Sony have obtained a court order barring the sale of the USB flash keys by an Australian company. The PS JAILBREAK mod allows the use of  backup discs to be played on the PS3.

Sony obtained an injunction ordering Australian reseller Quantronics to halt sales and distribution of the device until the 31st of August.

Their site was selling the mod for a pricey $170, but now has the item listed as ‘no stock‘. According to PS3News.com, Quantronics has cancelled preorders for PS3 Jailbreak and are refunding customers.

Another site listed in the court document, Ozmodchips, now has the modchip listed as sold out.

Meanwhile, CVG reports that Sony can detect players who are using the PS JAILBREAK mod and are hitting them with the ban-stick:
