Cliff Bleszinski from Epic Games stopped by the show tonight to give us
an exclusive FIRST LOOK at the hotly anticipated Gears of War 3
video game. Cliff brought a trailer, "Ashes to Ashes," especially for
us and now for all the world to see:
If you’ve been following iPhone hacker MuscleNerd on
Twitter, you would have seen that he has already worked
on a jailbreak for the iPhone’s new OS 4.0. The video demonstrates him
using both Cydia and Veency on his iPhone running the developer’s copy
of OS 4.0. There are no details about how to do the jailbreak and he
also recommends that users (with a dev copy) should not bother, because
the current version is "very buggy”. Take a look at the video below
demonstrating the results of the Jailbreak.
There is a new scam on the net affecting BitTorrent users, in an
effort to try and extort cash from unsuspecting users. A hacking entity
has formed a fake organization called ICPP Foundation which claims to be
an online intellectual copyright organization partnering with real
copyright from such as the RIAA, MPAA, Copyright Alliance and a few
other well-known organizations. With all the hub-bub about illegal
downloading, they are capitalizing on the fear BitTorrent users endure
when they download illegal content.
The malware program comes attached to programs and plants itself into
the PC user’s administration Application Data folder (C:\Documents and
Settings\{USERNAME}\Application
Data\IQManager\iqmanager.exe). When the virus activates, it scans the
entire system specifically for .torrent files (legit or not) and then
launches a fake applicatio... Read more »
The weeks leading up to a major technology launch are always going to
be riddled with Internet leaks, and the upcoming introduction of
NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 480 graphics card - codenamed Fermi - is no
exception.
Scheduled to be launched on March 26th,
NVIDIA's card has already been priced, pictured and
detailed
over the course of the last month. Accompanying the steady flow of
information is a set of in-house NVIDIA
benchmarks, which claim the GeForce GTX 480 to be superior to AMD's
fastest single-GPU competitor, the ATI Radeon HD 5870.
NVIDIA's own benchmarks have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but
the first of what appears to be real-world benchmarks have now arrived
to back up NVIDIA's claims. Surfacing at Arabic technology site arabhardware.net, the brief benchma... Read more »
Halo 3: ODST left many reviewers divided over the game's
additions to the franchise, though one area that was readily apparent to
everyone was how the game looked. Running at a sub-720p native
resolution and having animation and facial detail that was roughly
unchanged since Halo 3, the game was not as visually appealing
as certain other titles that released in 2009. Bungie community manager
Brian Jarrard was aware of the various complaints, and he talked with
IndustryGamers during GDC about how Bungie plans to improve Halo
in the graphics and animation department.
"We've definitely heard [from them] and taken it on the chin a little
bit in the past,” said Jarrard. "For our team, we've built massive,
simulated living breathing worlds with open-ended sandbox-like
encounters and unscripted elements, but with that, we've made trade offs
between things like f... Read more »
