It was only a matter of time.

Sony have obtained a court order barring the sale of the USB flash keys by an Australian company. The PS JAILBREAK mod allows the use of  backup discs to be played on the PS3.

Sony obtained an injunction ordering Australian reseller Quantronics to halt sales and distribution of the device until the 31st of August.

Their site was selling the mod for a pricey $170, but now has the item listed as ‘no stock‘. According to PS3News.com, Quantronics has cancelled preorders for PS3 Jailbreak and are refunding customers.

Another site listed in the court document, Ozmodchips, now has the modchip listed as sold out.

Meanwhile, CVG reports that Sony can detect players who are using the PS JAILBREAK mod and are hitting them with the ban-stick:

If you’re using the PSJailbreak and you get a ’8002A227′ error c... Read more »

If you’re planning on building a gaming PC anytime soon, you will be pleased to know of Intel’s upcoming price reductions for some of their flagship processors. In just seven says time on the 30th of August, the Core i7 950 (LGA1366, 3.06 GHz, quad-core) which is currently retailing for $564 on Amazon.com will be slashed to $294, effectively replacing the i7 930.

OverClockers.co.uk already has the processor listed for £234.99 on pre-order.

The 950 performed extremely well in benchmarks with plenty of room for overclock... Read more »

The E3 2005 trailer for Killzone 2 quickly became well-known (infamous, even) for its supposedly unatainable levels of in-game graphical prowess. But the initial trailer for the game that would become the original Killzone has been much less well known ... until this past week at GDC Europe.

Guerilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst showed off the circa-1999 concept video in a keynote speech in Cologne earlier this week, calling it a "showcase of technical competence" prepared for their first meeting with Sony. Even though Hulst admits there's "nothing really 'Killzone' about it" at this early stage (for instance, the Helghast and their glowing eyes don't even make a cameo appearance) we though... Here's some good news for all of you out there who hated the fact that you couldn't just hop into a game of Halo 3's campaign through a matchmaking system. Halo: Reach will indeed have matchmaking for its single-player. This means that instead of only being able to charge through the campaign with your friends you can charge through it with anyone.

My plan? Find someone ridiculously better than me at the game by doing matchmaking on Legendary as much as possible then ride his coattails to victory and glorious Achievements I don't actually deserve. Then I can roll up to places like I'm some sort of Halo OG and get mad props from my peeps.

My street cred aside, is there anyone who doesn't see this as a very welcome feature?

As of now, I’m sure most Halo Reach fans already know of the unfortunate Halo Reach game leak. Well, unfortunate for Bungie. For us fans, it just means that we get to see the game about a month early. The modders that received Halo Reach have been posting gameplay footage of the game on YouTube. They just recently released another video showing off new footage of Forge 2.0, Firefight 2.0 and the Halo Reach main menu.

You can check out this spoiler video right here. If you are not interested in seeing a spoiler, watching this video is not advised. You have been warned.
